The same family that helped us with the glasses for Spencer lost a family member last week. Travel was necessary to take care of business and morn with others, it was the wife's mom. We were called to see if the oldest son, Spencer's friend could stay with us a few says.
Of course he can!
It didn't matter what we had planned, or what needed to be figured out, that is one of those moments that you say yes and leave the details to God to figure out. And in the end, that is exactly what happened.
Living in community is essential. Maybe you don't know your next door neighbor, maybe you know nobody on your street, but what happens when a tragedy strikes? Who can you turn too right there, with out traveling, without calling? I don't know how to meet them, I am also not a natural at such things. But I do know that the holidays ar here, and that seems like a good time to make some extra cookies and go say hello.
