This was floating around Facebook in my circle of people last week. I find it hilarious.

DYI

I know...the phrase is supposed to be DIY, Do It Yourself. I noticed I turned the letters around a few weeks ago, but somehow it's fitting for me.

Do Yourself In (just crafting difficulties, nothing dark or sinister)
Do Yourself It (Yoda)
Dog Yowling Incessantly (neighbor's, not mine)
Determined Yodeling Instructors
Do Your Isagenix (shameless plug, but still true for me)

Introducing...

I am done being the big woman in the room.
I don't need to be skinny, but I am done being this fat. Period.
I also know how much our environment has changed, and how it is affecting people's health, including my own. Although we've made changes in our household we can not avoid everything.Chemicals, toxins, pesticides and GMO are in so many basic products.

Last Tuesday, the 13th of the month, after the big night of the concert, I started Isagenix. I just finished the "9 day Cleanse".

I've lost 14.6 pounds since then and 3 inches off my waist and 1.5 off my hips.

Instead of gaining weight this Christmas, I am giving myself a present and losing it instead.

Isagenix

Check that link out, and if you would also like to start a journey to better health, better quality of life, and/or lose weight then drop me a comment or an email and I will be glad to answer questions or order products. I am selling it now, so I ask that if you choose to buy some for yourself that you please do it through me. Thanks!

Also, this is an opportunity to start your own Isagenix business as well. The above link has testimonies, it's worth checking out.

I absolutely pledge to not turn this blog into a selling spot. But I will occasionally post what I have lost and how I am doing. It's a journey, and I am determined to finish it this time. I hope you don't mind.

Excuse me, it's 40 outside...

I drove past my neighbors garen the other day and saw that she still have a big ol zucchini growing on a nearly dead vine. I decided I should go look in my ow garden in case anything was still growing.

Apparently my garden doesn't know how cold it is outside. Love it!

How wonderful! I am so thankful for fresh produce.

Thankful Ten Tuesday

So many blessings. So thankful..

1. Christmas is near.
2. Concert was successful, bought equipment for our fire department and helped 5 families in need, including a family whose home burnt down that very night.
3. My son is a sweetheart.
4. Jenelle is being very sweet as well lately.
5. Alyssa is coming to visit Wednesday, hurray!
6. Love really does exist, and conquers all.
7. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus on Sunday, without His birth we wouldn't have His death, and without that, we wouldn't have free to you for the asking salvation.
8. I am not craving anything sweet!
9. The weather is glorious lately. Looks like we will be able to take the beautiful short route to my parents house next week!
10. I am madly in love with my husband and he with me. Even after 12 1/2 years.

What are you thankful for? You can leave a link to your blog or FB in the comments if you would like too. SHARE! :)

I AM Such A Tease!

I know I said I would tell you something fabulous tomorrow...but I am going to wait until Thursday. It's very important that I do.

Let me give you another little hint of information...if you are someone that starts every year off with some sort of New Years Resolution about being healthier, or losing weight this will be good news for you, and right in time.

Tomorrow I will post a Thankful Tuesday list.

What are you thankful for this year? Make a list on your blog or facebook and post a link in the comments tomorrow! There is so much to be thankful for.

I Am Not Crazy, No Seriously, I'm Not

For years, YEARS, I have held to the belief that somehow, due to metabolism, or something weird, I can eat the same amount of food (or not eat it in this case) and not lose weight, or even gain weight while smaller women around me lose it. People, even friends, would look at me like I was crazy, or making excuses, or lying about what I ate.

I am a big woman. There is no denying it. I didn't get here only eating salads. But I wasn't lying or making excuses about this fact. I could eat the same amount of food as someone else and I would gain, and they wouldn't.

Guess what?
Dr. Kevin Hall of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases has discovered something. I found this article in the December 2011 Women's Health magazine. Forever everyone thought that a pound was worth 3,500 calories, either direction. His new research shows that number can vary. Especially interesting to me? Lean people gain less than obese people taking in the same amount of calories.

Read that last sentence again. Here, I'll say it a different way:
If you are already overweight it takes less extra calories to make a new pound. You can indeed gain weight more easily than a lean person.

I. AM. NOT. CRAZY.
(Or lying, or making excuses)

Tell a friend.

My solution to this problem?
Get Lean.
More on that Tuesday.

I'm Seeing Red.

Been a busy month around here. I am sure it has been for you as well. Big benefit concert tomorrow. Made these over the last couple days with help from Jenelle. Heather and Nancy...and most importantly, Bake at 350. Not that I know her personally, but her work inspired me to try...and frankly, it worked! She doesn't have fire engines on her page, just a fabulous roll out sugar cookie recipe that does NOT require chilling the dough, Yippee! And lots of how to tips.  These lovely fire engines will be on the seat for each VIP ticket holder. Like a little thank you party favor...

Wrapped and waiting for their ribbons.

Just for the record, super black frosting looks like axle grease, especially if you put it in a jar like this.

You know you want one! So yummy too!

I Didn't Die

Monday night is our big Benefit concert. I am the leaders personal assistant type person, plus other duties, oh, and I sing on stage as well. SO needless to say, the last five weeks or so have been a bit busier than normal. We are honoring our local fire department. We are also buying them some defibrillators for their rigs.

It's going to be wonderful.

I am thankful that we sold out our first show and had to add another. I am thankful for everyone helping out, volunteering hours and helping make this happen. I am thankful for the raffle that will help needy families in our area have a better Christmas. I am thankful for this great experience. I am also thankful that it will be over and I can get some other stuff done soon.

Somehow I am part of a very small crew making very special decorated cookies for the VIP's as little a thank you. Not sure how that happened, but I will be utilizing all sorts of information from Bake @ 350's blog for that project (ACK!)

See you all soon.
