On Mother's day most mom's get pretty cards with lovely prose, perhaps gaggy, perhaps not. Some, including me, get home made cards made by young hands eager to please you with their hand drawn flowers and smiling suns.
And then there's the other cards I got.
Having two twenty year olds, that are very, how should I put this? "Creative" makes for an interesting Mother's Day Card experience.
The following poem was written for me:
"Besties"
My mom and me are the best of friends
When we hang out I wish it'd never end
You married a black guy
So our family could be more fly
You make me dinner after school
And I usually like it, so that's pretty cool
We go shopping and look for shoes
Then we fight and we all lose
We will be besties until you die
and when that happens I'll MOST LIKELY cry
Let's Dance

On my other card I was thanked for "not hitting the crack pipe"...isn't that sweet? They are thanking me for not being a drug addict mom. Aaaahhhh, it just warms my heart. :D
I hope your mother's day was filled with warm and loving sentiment from your kids as well...or if you aren't a mom that you were able to thank your own mom for whatever reason you can come up with....
