Exuberantly Exaggerating Everything!

E's Everywhere!

Ten on Tuesday Thankful E list:
(No particular order)

1. Exuberance
2. Extras
3. Entertainment
4. Excellence
5. Evidence
6. Entrances
7. Exits
8. Etc.
9. Eccentric (being)
10.Eds. (the)

Just a quick list this week.
I will accept all lists of thankfulness, even if you can only think of one thing this week, JUST ONE THING STARTING WITH ANY LETTER YOU WANT!

Join me.

Feel the love....or not.

In an on going battle of "Mom loves me more" the following was overheard today: (Keep in mind J is 2 weeks shy of being 19, and S is 8)

As J pulls me over and hugs me...
J: Look S, Mom loves me more, she's hugging me"

S: "Oh yeah, she loves me too, see" (I avoid a dog pile hug at this point and make him simply hug me)

J: "Oh yeah, well she has loved me longer!!"

S: "That may be true but she loves me more"

J: "What? No she doesn't"

S: "Yeah, she may have more experience loving you, but the day I appeared in the hospital she loved me more than she ever loved you your whole life."

And we laughed at his brilliance.

Delicate snowflakes were not only falling about 7 miles up the road, they were falling on MY HOUSE TOO! (I have no photos to share) While at work yesterday, and during our Sunday morning service/concert I watched the snow fall outside and it literally made me giddy. It's simply beautiful.

One week until Christmas Eve, are you ready?

Excuse Me, So Sorry.

I just realized that I haven't blogged in a few days. Sorry. I love my 8 fans, and I don't want to let you down. This week is concert week. It gets super busy and crazy. This time we have to added pleasure of my own dad playing trombone in the concerts as well, WHICH IS FABULOUS, however, that means my mom and dad are coming to town too. So usually this week the house kinda gets thrashed and things are ignored (like blogging) for the impending weekend spectacular...but now I have to clean my house too. It's worth it, I love my parents. This time is different too because I have to step over from the stage to direct the choir on 3 songs. I still have to sing my parts, but also direct them.

2 days, 3 concerts, loads of fun, but hard work. All worth it to see people praising and remembering why we have this season.
See you in a few days.

Who doesn't need a $50 gift card to Target right about now? If you don't I'd like to congratulate you on your financial success and send you my Christmas wish list.

I am not giving one away, but if you head over to Unexpected Bliss she is!!

I realize I am actually making my odds worse by letting you know about this, but that's okay, God loves a generous heart.

Strange Things Overheard This Week

"You don't know, you aren't in my mouth"

"That made me fart"

"Don't threaten me with a good time"

"Why is food so delicious?"

"Excuse me, but there's a bra hanging from your pocket"

And my favorite, spoken when the coach of my son's 3rd grade boys basketball team asked for name suggestions:

"Flaming Balls"

Bad Mommy, BAD MOMMY!

Long , long ago my daughters were young and attended school.
Long, long ago they brought home LOTS of paperwork ALL.THE.TIME....

and apparently, one time, maybe more, I didn't read everything that came home, or perhaps I didn't write it on the calendar....

Yeah, bad Mommy.

We found this photo in the garage this week...I am hoping we made them retake the photos, you know, when I I actually did her hair. I love it when my kids look like no one takes care of them, yep, love it!

I think the actual story is I did her hair and then she "re-did" it before the picture, or perhaps they were the final class of the day, after recess, after lunch, after PE that included rubbing a balloon on your head.

Just for the record, she looks more like this now:

Why Fake It?

I love the smell of real pine, I do. I love living where I do now, God has blessed me with the Sierra mountain foothills and the pine trees therein. The whisper of the wind through the pines, the smell as the sun warms them, yes, it's lovely and delightful and fills my senses and makes my heart happy.

Unless that tree is dead and in my house.

Then a whole new set o things happens, it attacks my senses, offends my well being, terrorizes my sinuses, and by Christmas, I am sick. It happened several years in a row before I caught on,"Hey, maybe it's the dead tree in the room." We tried a fresh cut tree one time, that worked out a lot better, but eventually, I felt the same things happening.

Enter the fake tree.

I know, I know, FAKE...but seriously, when given a choice between being healthy on Christmas day and being miserable and sick, which would you choose? I want to enjoy the day, enjoy my hard work of finding gifts for my giant family, not sit in a stuper of medicine and wish I was asleep.

Then the environmentalist in me is happy too. I was always a little sad to think these poor growing LIVING trees were just chopped down and that's it, they are dead. Enjoyed for a month and cast out. No more oxygen making, no more bird nests, or whispering breezes. That's right, I speak for the trees, just a little. I am not going to chain myself to one, I am not going to judge you for having a real tree. I still love real trees. I am just torn on the whole idea.

For us it's also extremely economical. I bought our current tree during a massive 75% off sale after Christmas one year, It's price was equivalent to one big live tree, or perhaps 1 1/2 smaller it paid for itself by the next year.(These days it would be one standard tree) So I have that much more money to spend on presents each year, or for the electricity for the lights, because I am a light junkie on my tree. I love the lights. I make sure it looks good in just lights before adding anything else. It's also good during a lean year, like this year and last year, seriously, if we didn't have a fake tree, we wouldn't have one at all. It's also not the fire hazard of a real tree. We have lived in really dry climates, and tree fires do indeed happen.

This is just what works for me, what works for you?
Do you use a real tree or a fake one? Are you a purest? Do you judge others on what they have? (All you real tree people, I explained my problem, be nice). You can vote in a comment, but I'd love to know reasons too. Is it a fond memory? Allergies like me? Let me know.

For amazing, frugal, and fabulous ideas, and a lot of them...head over to Shannon's Dryer.

Odd thing...I tried to find my original post on the letter B, and I can't find it. Weird. SO I have no idea if any of these are duplicates.

No particular order.

1. Babies.
2. Backrubs
3. Bananas
4. Binaca, it was strong before the curiously strong hit the market.
5. Bait, to fish with, that isn't alive and wiggly.
6. Bathrooms, need I say more? (Except, I am more thankful when they are clean.)
7. Bats, and the fact that they eat insects.
8. Butterflies
9. B52's
10. Breakfast foods, Bacon, Crepes, pancakes, omelettes, yum!

What are you thankful for? Make a quick list of ten things. Share them here. Others can benefit from seeing what you are thankful for. Thanks for participating.

Falling For You

Somewhere under there is my driveway.

Isn't God's design amazing?

It looked like this a few days ago, then we raked and made a GIANT pile. It rained the next day and now, it looks like these photos all over again, and the trees aren't even half empty yet!
It's so lovely.
And raking burns a lot of calories, so it's all good.
